Burn Ban Order

April 08, 2015 (Bell County, Texas) - Due to recent rain fall totals in the county, the burn ban has been lifted until further notice by the Bell County Commissioners Court.  Burn Ban is NOT in effect.  If you plan to burn in Bell County, please call 254-933-5555 prior to beginning. The Public is reminded that TCEQ rules still apply, specifically:

Fire Danger

Due to current fire conditions the Texas A&M forest Service has placed Bell county into moderate fire danger:     Fires start easily from all causes and, immediately after ignition, spread rapidly and increase quickly in intensity. Spot fires are a constant danger. Fires burning in light fuels may quickly develop high intensity characteristics such as long range spotting and fire whirlwinds when they burn in heavier fuels.
